The Wheaton Arts Parade (WAP) Gallery will host its annual winter exhibition entitled “CELEBRATION.” This year we will celebrate *small works* featuring art that is 24"x24" or smaller.
The exhibit will run from November 14 to December 20, 2026 (6 weeks). This is an opportunity for up to 25 artists to exhibit a maximum of 4 original, professional quality artworks. We are looking for artists’ interpretations and impressions of this festive winter season. This is a great opportunity to showcase small unique works!

Location: The gallery space is approximately 1200 sq ft with unobstructed views of walls and lots of natural light. The gallery is located one and a half blocks from the Wheaton Metro Station. (See map below.) There are three public parking lots and garages as well as street parking all within one block from the gallery and excellent restaurants nearby. Parking is free on weekdays after 6PM and on weekends Saturdays and Sundays.
Artwork: The Gallery aims to maintain a diverse representation of local artists. All media of original art will be considered: painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, fiber etc. Artists can exhibit 2 to 4 works to occupy display space equivalent to four 24"x24" paintings. All art must be for sale and remain on display for the duration of the exhibition. Artwork that violates copyright laws or that has been created using AI will not be considered.
Eligibility: Artists must be at least 18 years old and reside or create their artwork in Maryland, DC, or Virginia.
Application: Applications open on October 16th, 2026. Applications close on October 30th, 2026. There is no fee to apply. The link to the full application form and important details are in the PROSPECTUS. Acceptance notifications will be emailed by November 4, 2026. Art drop-off will take place on November 8th and 9th, 2026. If accepted, you will be sent a link to sign-up for your drop-off time.
Artist Responsibilities: Wheaton Arts Parade relies upon artist volunteers to help operate the gallery. Artists must volunteer for at least 9 hours (3, 3-hour shifts.)
Gallery Hours: We plan to be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Business hours will depend on the availability of volunteers. We hope to have the gallery open 6 to 9 hours during business days.
Gallery Fee & Commission: The participation fee is $70 and is due when the artist drops off their art or beforehand through online payment. Half of the participation fee will be refunded to artists who gallery sit for 3, 3-hour shifts. The Gallery’s commission on the Artist’s sales revenue is 10%.
